Bity Buy — Privacy Policy

Bity Buy is a tool for film and television buyers and set dressers to track transport orders, vendor information, receipts, invoices, wrap packs, and related production paperwork. This policy describes what data the app handles and how.

1. We don't track you

Bity Buy does not collect analytics, does not advertise, does not track your usage across other apps or websites, and does not share data with third-party trackers. There are no third-party SDKs in the app for advertising, analytics, or behavioral tracking.

2. What stays on your device

The data you enter into Bity Buy lives on your device and, if you enable it, in your personal iCloud account. We do not have a server. We do not have access to anything you put into the app.

This includes:

• Show, episode, and set names you create
• Vendor records (name, address, phone, hours, notes)
• Transport orders (pickup / drop-off addresses, contacts, phone numbers, item lists, photos)
• Receipts (seller names, prices, screenshots, signatures)
• Invoices and line items
• Wrap packs and photo packs (with photos)
• Day planner stops, task logs
• Calibration positions for your printable templates

3. What data the app handles

For App Store reporting, the categories of personal data the app processes are:

• Photos — you choose photos to attach to transport orders, receipts, wrap packs, and photo packs. Photos are stored on your device only.
• Names — buyer name, vendor name, contact name, seller name, etc., as you enter them.
• Phone numbers — vendor phone, pickup phone, drop-off phone, etc., as you enter them.
• Physical addresses — vendor addresses, pickup and drop-off addresses, lockup and production-office addresses, as you enter them.

All four categories are used only for app functionality (rendering PDFs, completing forms, auto-filling fields). They are not linked to your identity in any analytics sense and are not used for tracking.

4. iCloud sync

If you sign in to iCloud and enable iCloud sync for Bity Buy in your device settings, your show / vendor / order / receipt data and PDFs sync between your devices through Apple's CloudKit. This sync is governed by Apple's terms — Apple is the data processor, not us. We do not see any of this data.

5. Address autocomplete

When you type a vendor or pickup address in the app, the app sends the partial address to Apple's MapKit for autocomplete suggestions. Apple's privacy policy applies to that lookup. The app does not log or store the queries.

6. Permissions the app requests

• Photo Library — to attach photos and screenshots to your records. Asked only when you tap the photo picker. The app does not read your library otherwise.
• Face ID / Touch ID / Passcode — only if you enable App Lock in Settings. Used to unlock the app. Authentication is handled by iOS; the app never sees your biometric data.

7. Required Reason API usage

Per Apple's iOS 17+ requirements, the app uses the following APIs for the listed reasons:

• UserDefaults — to remember your preferences (theme, country, etc.) on this device.
• File timestamps — to display "Last modified" times on your saved PDFs and backups.
• Disk space — to show storage usage in the Backups section so you can manage app data.

8. Children's privacy

Bity Buy is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and the change will be reflected on this page.
